Corner Computer Desks
The corner of a room is often wasted space unless you can put a useful piece of furniture
there. In a home office the corner computer desk serves that purpose quite nicely. It has several additional benefits. You can set your computer
in the middle and have writing space on both the left and right sides, so whether you're left or right handed either option is available. If
you're facing a window with a good view it's a simple flick of your eyes up from your screen to see something going on outside. The wall space
above the left and right sides of the desk (returns as they're called) provide ample space for business notes, bulletin boards, or even
bookshelves.
The only problem you may have is that when your computer is in the corner and your back is to the room, anyone can walk in behind you and see
what you're doing. Additionally if you're home watching children while you work, your back is to them and you have to keep turning around to see
what's going on.
Despite those two downfalls, the corner desk gives you the most workspace and puts the computer in the most ideal position in order to make
work flow smoother.
For large furniture pieces such as this I would suggest first checking with a home office store and then a larger furniture store. You'll want
to test the drawers to see if they open smoothly on ball bearings or if they squeek. Additional features such as style, wood grain and color may
also be important to you. You can purchase something off the internet if you like, but I feel this is something that must be seen in person
first.
