Computer Desk Options
for Small Spaces
A common question by people who live in small spaces is, "what other options
do I have besides the standard computer desk?" This is a valid question since
a lot of computer desks are fairly large and in small rooms such as a tiny
office, apartment, or college dorm there just isn't room for a monster desk
and all the other stuff you have. So what else can you use?
We are currently using a small buffet table for an office desk. We have also
used a small rolling cart, this is helpful because it can be moved from one
place to another. We have used various sized end tables, kid sized desks, even
a small coffee table.
A small roll top desk would be able to hide all the stuff on the desk so it doesn't
look cluttered. Or use a tall and skinny dresser that would normally hold a
few delicate clothing items. You can use each drawer for desk items and have
your laptop on top of the dresser. You wouldn't need a chair because of the
heighth, which would eliminate another bulky piece of furniture.
Really any flat surface can be used as a computer desk. You could take a countertop
and mount it to the wall, probably flush with the corner, and use that as a
desktop. Brace it will a piece of wood underneath one side.
